Corporate Outreach Committee
The mission of the Corporate Outreach Committee is to engage local science, technology, biotechnology and engineering companies, research organizations and service providers, and to provide them the opportunity to support women in the local scientific community through the sponsorship of svAWIS events, svAWIS volunteer awards and academic scholarships, and an opportunity to advertise vacant job positions to a highly talented pool of scientists.

Educational Outreach Committee
The Educational Outreach Committee is dedicated to engaging minds and achieving equity in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). We seek to make STEM accessible to all students and community members alike, especially those who are members of underrepresented minorities and underserved communities. The Committee is currently focused on working with middle schools in the greater Sacramento area including Woodland, Dixon, and West Sacramento.

- Develop widely-accessible STEM activities
- Coordinate educational outreach events
- Promote svAWIS educational resources, activities, and events
- Increase representation of STEM at schools in low-income communities through volunteer and mentorship activities
- Establish curriculum and procedures for long-term involvement between svAWIS and schools in the greater Sacramento area

Event Coordination Committee
The objective of the Event Coordination Committee is to oversee svAWIS events from start to finish, including but not limited to logistics, volunteer coordination, as well as generating and executing current and future event ideas. The aim of these events is to provide career growth and networking opportunities, and a support structure for those engaged and interested in promoting women in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology.

Public Relations Committee
The goal of the Public Relations committee is to increase awareness and interest in the svAWIS chapter within the local community. This includes the timely dissemination of our goals, upcoming events and our achievements as a chapter via social media engagement and advertising through local channels. Effective Public Relations are vital to the success of our organization. Our efforts ensure that potential members and sponsors in the community are familiar with both svAWIS and our mission to achieve equity and full participation of women in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It also ensures that current members are kept up to date with our latest activities thereby increasing member participation and retention.
